Evolution of Rank Insignia

The following images were created by Don Durandal and show the evolution of rank insignia for the French army in the Great War. The insignia of enlisted ranks is shown first, followed by those of officers.

Note: the regulation measurements of the later style Sdt. 1e Cl., Cpl. and Sgt. stripes (dark blue) are 12 mm x 35 mm.
