The Regimental Colors

drapeau

In 1793, after the destruction of the colors of the old regime, the tricolor flag of the 151e R.I. was created bearing the inscription "Discipline et obéissance aux lois" ("Discipline and obedience to the laws"). In 1842, a regulation flag is adopted by the military and the three vertical bars are standardized. In 1852, Napoléon III decrees that all regimental colors should also be inscribed with the names of the battles that a regiment participated in from 1792 on. On July 14, 1880, the Third Republic distributes new flags and defines strict regulations for the dimensions and inscriptions. These have not changed since that day.

The inscriptions on le drapeau of the 151e R.I. are:

  • Weissig.............1813
  • Wurschen..........1813
  • L'Yser................1914
  • Verdun..............1916

  • Germersheim.....1945
